Textile Pattern Work

NEW new work, shifting focus AGAIN! But this time I really feel it. I feel like textile design is what I should have been doing all along. I have aways had an interest in fashion design and illustration and thats basically what textile design is. I have even been designing patterns for clothes so why not just focus on the patterns them selves?  I have always been interested in patterns and now thats all I see. Hopefully this will be more fruitful then my past works. I have always been fascinated by Japanese design, prints, fashion, art and manga are a strong influence in my work.

New Project

Its been a long time in the making, these shapes are from a previous project my Manga Paintings. I cut out the shapes from the enlarged pages of a manga from translucent sheets.  Then used those as stencils to spray paint those shapes on to more translucent sheets. Then layered those shapes on top of one another to create an infinite number of works. With more colors and shapes I can make even more possibilities.

Manga Paintings

For a while I have been working on my manga paintings. the images come from hentai (Japanese erotic comics), where i crop parts and then blow them up and paint them on panels. Each one I get a little better, dig a little deeper, I am still looking to push the shapes, half tones (the little dots that make grey) and color.
